This learning path will explore foundations concepts, how digital tools can be leveraged by employees at SMEs, as well as security advantages of moving to the Cloud.

Who should attend
Learners in this group are entry-level employees. They are beginners or may have intermediate skills with Cloud technology. They are primarily interested in fulfilling the increased demand for cloud computing skills.
Course Objectives
Upon completing this level, learners should be able to:
- Define the benefits of adopting a Cloud strategy within their organisation,
- Evaluate how digital tools can improve job role productivity, customer service, deployment of products and services,
- Describe the digital skills applicable to the functions of their job role, and
- Integrate security practices into the functions of their job role.
Course Content
Pre-test to determine competency - Employees (Day 1)
15 Minutes Online
The pre-test, jointly with the post-test, is useful to validate the effectiveness of the training from the learner’s perspective, but also provides useful insights for leaders and other stakeholders.
AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials (Day 1)
8 Hours Instructor-led Online Training
- Summarise the working definition of AWS,
- Differentiate between on-premises, hybrid-cloud, and all-in cloud,
- Describe the basic global infrastructure of the AWS Cloud,
- Explain the six benefits of the AWS Cloud,
- Describe and provide an example of the core AWS services, including compute, network, databases, and storage,
- Identify an appropriate solution using AWS Cloud services with various use cases,
- Describe the AWS Well-Architected Framework,
- Explain the shared responsibility model,
- Describe the core security services within the AWS Cloud,
- Describe the basics of AWS Cloud migration,
- Articulate the financial benefits of the AWS Cloud for an organisation's cost management,
- Define the core billing, account management, and pricing models, and
- Explain how to use pricing tools to make cost-effective choices for AWS services.
Moving to the Cloud: Decisions for SME Employees (Day 2)

Post-test to meassure progress - Employees (Day 2)
15 Minutes Self-paced Online Training
The post-test, compared to the results of the pre-test, is useful to validate the effectiveness of the training from the learner’s perspective, but also provides useful insights for leaders and other stakeholders.
Pre-Certification Exam of the Exam Readiness Package - SME Employees (Day 3)
1 Hour Self-paced Online Training
- Test knowledge using the pre-certification exam,
- Review and discuss results of the pre-certification exam,
- Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses based on exam topic domains,
- Ask questions about the exam,
- Create a study plan to prepare for the exam, and
- Identify effective test taking strategies that can be used to answer exam questions.
Readiness Course of the Exam Readiness Package - Employees (Day 4)
2 Hours Instructor-led Online Training
The Exam Readiness Package aims to:
- Test knowledge using the pre-certification exam,
- Review and discuss results of the pre-certification exam,
- Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses based on exam topic domains,
- Ask questions about the exam,
- Create a study plan to prepare for the exam, and
- Identify effective test taking strategies that can be used to answer exam questions.
EU CloudCamp4SMEs Certification Exam - Employees (Final Day)
1 Hour Online Exam
The Certification Exams will be designed and developed specifically for the EU CloudCamp4SMEs program and will draw on questions that cover from the courses.
The exam will be completed by the alumni at an in-person proctored exam centre and it will vary between 1-2 hours, based on the learning path.
Exam questions will be multiple choice and randomised and will be scored based on points, with a passing score equal to 80% correctly answered questions.
