Course Overview

The HPE Superdome Flex 280 server is a highly scalable, reliable and secure server with from 2 to 8 powerful 3rd generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors and up to 24TB of shared memory.

This course provides an overview of system components and practical experience working with the HPE Superdome Flex 280 server. You use rack management controller (RMC) commands to retrieve hardware configuration, to power on and boot the server, configure autopower, review supported operating systems, monitor system performance with HPE Foundation Software (HFS) or the data collection daemon (DCD), and monitor log files.

Prerequisites

  • Enterprise Linux System Administration (H7091S) or equivalent Linux, VMware® or Windows Server administration experience.

Course Objectives

  • Identify HPE Superdome Flex 280 server components and component function
  • Use the embedded RMC (eRMC) to configure, monitor, manage, and access server components and firmware
  • Interact with the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) to configure boot parameters and manually boot server
  • Explore the HPE Superdome Flex 280 manageability system
  • Launch the Web GUI for eRMC
  • Launch vMedia, vKVM (HTML5)
  • Configure UEFI boot order
  • Access the remote system console and console logs
  • Review the built-in Error Analysis Engine feature
  • Review supported operating systems
