To prepare for the certification exam, we recommend that you take the associated NSE courses. The courses are optional.
Becoming a FCSS in Security Operations on October 1, 2023 Professionals will receive this certification on October 1, 2023 if they have passed any version of the Fortinet NSE 7—Advanced Analytics exam on or after October 1, 2021.
The expiration date of the certification received under these conditions will be two years after you passed the Fortinet NSE 7—Advanced Analytics exam.

Recertification
- If your FCSS in Security Operations certification has expired, you must pass the NSE 7–Advanced Analytics exam to earn active status.
- If your FCSS in Security Operations certification is still active, you can extend its expiration date to two years from the date you complete the following requirement:
- Passing the NSE 7–Advanced Analytics exam.
- If your FCSS in Security Operations certification is still active, you can extend its expiration date to three years from the date you achieve or renew the FCX in Cybersecurity certification.
- Passing the NSE 7–Advanced Analytics exam recertifies your FCP in Security Operations, FCF, and FCA certifications if they are still active.
