Fortinet Certified Professional Security Operations (FCPSO)

The FCP in Security Operations certifications validates your ability to secure networks and applications by deploying, managing, and monitoring Fortinet security operations products. This curriculum will cover the day-to-day tasks related to Fortinet security operation devices.

We recommend this certification for cybersecurity professionals who require the expertise to deploy, manage, and analyze Fortinet security operations devices.

Recommended training for this certification

You must successfully pass two elective exams.

Elective exams:

  • Fortinet NSE 4–FortiOS (FortiGate Security and FortiGate Infrastructure)
  • Fortinet NSE 5–FortiAnalyzer Analyst
  • Fortinet NSE 5–FortiEDR
  • Fortinet NSE 5–FortiSIEM
  • Fortinet NSE 6–FortiSOAR Administrator

You will receive a digital exam badge each time you pass any version of the above exams. You will also receive a digital certification badge after you have achieved the certification.

To prepare for the certification exams, we recommend that you take the associated NSE courses. The courses are optional.

Becoming a FCP in Security Operations on October 1, 2023 Professionals will receive this certification on October 1, 2023 if they have passed two of the following exams:

  • Fortinet NSE 4–FortiOS (any version)
  • Fortinet NSE 5–FortiAnalyzer 7.2 Analyst
  • Fortinet NSE 5–FortiEDR (any version)
  • Fortinet NSE 5–FortiSIEM (any version)
  • Fortinet NSE 6–FortiSOAR Administrator (any version)

Under the following conditions:

  • The last of those two exams was passed on or after October 1, 2021.
  • The first of those two exams was passed no more than two years before the last exam.

Note: The following exams do not count as electives for this certification:

  • Fortinet NSE 6–FortiAnalyzer 7.2 Administrator
  • Fortinet NSE 5–FortiAnalyzer (version 7.0 and earlier)

Exams

  • Available worldwide at: Pearson VUE test centers and OnVUE
  • Scoring method: Answers must be 100% correct for credit. No partial credit is given. There are no deductions for incorrect answers.
  • Type of questions: Multiple choice and multiple select
  • Time required between attempts: 15 days
  • Transcript and certificate: Your Fortinet Training Institute transcript is updated within five business days after you pass the exam. After that, you will be able to download a printable certificate from the Fortinet Training Institute.

Recertification

  • If your FCP in Security Operations certification has expired, you must pass two elective exams within two years of difference to earn active status.
  • If your FCP in Security Operations certification is still active, you can extend its expiration date to two years from the date you complete one of the following requirements:
    • Passing two elective exams within two years of difference.
    • Passing the core exam for the FCSS in Security Operations certification.
  • If your FCP in Security Operations certification is still active, you can extend its expiration date to three years from the date you achieve or renew the FCX in Cybersecurity certification.
  • Passing any of the FCP exams recertifies your FCF and FCA certifications if they are still active.
