Course Overview

Good teamwork does not come about simply by bringing people together and giving them a task. Teams differ from work groups in many respects and are much more efficient if they are built up correctly and accompanied appropriately. This seminar will teach you how to build teams and how to develop and lead them in their development processes.

People who want to better master complex situations and use techniques and methods to do so.

Willingness to deal with complexity.

Course Objectives

You will learn what distinguishes teams from work groups and get an overview of team development processes.

You will learn how to build and guide teams so that they are motivated and perform well.

You will learn methods and techniques for facilitating team development processes and develop an understanding of how much and which methods of leadership are appropriate in which development phase.

Course Content

In addition to theoretical units to impart knowledge and practical exercises to reflect on one's own work practice, practical questions from everyday work will be highlighted.

The following contents will be the focus of the seminar:

  • The small, subtle difference: team or work group?
  • Team development processes
  • Roles in teams
  • Promoting and demanding teamwork
  • When is how much leadership necessary? And in what form?
  • Cooperative vs. confrontational communication in teams
  • Communicating rules, boundaries and expectations
