Introduction to the Junos Operating System (IJOS)

Kursbeschreibung Kurstermine

Kursüberblick

This three-day course provides students with the foundational knowledge required to work with the Junos operating system and to configure Junos devices. The course provides a brief overview of the Junos device families and discusses the key architectural components of the software. Key topics include user interface options with a heavy focus on the command-line interface (CLI), configuration tasks typically associated with the initial setup of devices, interface configuration basics with configuration examples, secondary system configuration, and the basics of operational monitoring and maintenance of Junos devices.

The course then delves into foundational routing knowledge and configuration examples including general routing concepts, routing policy, and firewall filters.

Through demonstrations and hands-on labs, students will gain experience in configuring and monitoring the Junos OS and monitoring basic device operations. This course is based on Junos OS Release 15.1X49.

Important: On February 10, 2017, Education Services transitioned to a new 3-day version of the Introduction to the Junos Operating System (IJOS) course, revision V-15.a. The new revision includes updated content from the IJOS-V-12.e course, the Junos Routing Essentials (JRE-V-12.b) course, and additional material.
After April 1, 2017, all classes will be the new 3-day IJOS-V-15.a course, outlined below. The IJOS-V-12.e and JRE-V-12.b one-day courses will not be offered after April 1, 2017.
If you are registering for an IJOS class between February 10 and March 31, contact your training provider to confirm whether it is the one-day IJOS-V-12.e course or the three-day IJOS-V-15.a course.
