Virtual Switches in Data Centre Networks

New course in the Fast Lane programme: Operation of Cisco Nexus 1000V switches in VMware vSphere environments

Fast Lane, a Cisco Learning Solutions Partner, has expanded its programme of Data Centre training courses. ‘Implementing Data Center Networks Using the Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch (IDCN1V)’ provides comprehensive knowledge with regard to the Nexus 1000V product family and its use in VMware vSphere environments. Hands-on labs extend the far-reaching curriculum in order to provide a practically-oriented introduction.

During the two-day training course, participants will become conversant with the functions of the Nexus 1000V solution and the protocols it supports. The virtual switches operate within the VMware ESX Hypervisor and support Cisco VN-Link Server virtualisation technology.

Graduates from the course will have a comprehensive insight into the deployment scenarios for virtual Cisco switches. In addition, the close relationship between the switches and VMware devices and services is also part of the course content, with aspects such as the necessary configurations and installations being covered. Hands-on exercises in Fast Lane’s specially designed labs supplement the theoretical knowledge provided in the training course.
