IT training specialist continues to expand

Fast Lane defies the economic crisis with continued global growth

16th February 2010 – The IT training specialist Fast Lane reports positive financial results for 2009. In contrast to the general economic slump in most industries the company increased its global revenues last year to 80 million US$. This solid growth is based on a strategy of ongoing development that has resulted in Fast Lane expanding its global training and consulting network during the previous business year to include a number of key strategic locations.

The company has thereby secured its market position for the foreseeable future with the opening of new branch offices and the resulting expansion of global activities. The new and strategically important training centres in Italy, Spain, France, Denmark, Mexico and Peru have expanded Fast Lane’s global training and consulting network and contribute to the strengthening of the company’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe as well as in Japan, the US and South America. In addition, the company’s focus on practical-based learning and its associated ongoing investments in high-end lab infrastructure have also been decisive to growth. For example, a comprehensive Cisco Nexus-Lab has been established in Europe for practical training sessions as well as consulting and evaluation purposes. This special lab environment includes Cisco Nexus 7000 and 5010 switches as well as the Nexus 2000 Fabric Extender and VMware ESX servers, including Nexus 1000V.

Fast Lane also continuously expands its training portfolio with the addition of new courses. For example, in 2009 the training specialist realised the global market implementation of new Cisco training courses concentrating on the Cisco Nexus 1000, 2000, 5000 and 7000 products. The company also assists manufacturers such as Cisco and NetApp with the development of new training material. Furthermore, Fast Lane constantly expands its range of own training courses in order to give participants a solid introduction to particular topics.

“We will continue to pursue our strategy in 2010. As we now have new training centres in Italy, France and Spain we are forecasting further significant growth in revenues. We are also expecting an increase in business activity in Great Britain, the Netherlands, South America, the US, Central and Eastern Europe and Japan,” comments Torsten Poels, CEO & Chairman of the Board, General Manager EMEA, Americas & APAC at Fast Lane.
