Course Overview

This course provides the essential knowledge to enable administrators to configure and manage HP Storage Essentials software. The hands-on lab exercises reinforce the theory sessions to ensure a thorough understanding of Storage Resource Management (SRM) concepts, the functionality of the software and its application to typical storage implementations. Storage Essentials 9.5 software is used during the hands-on exercises.

Storage and system administrators using HP Storage Essentials software.

Prerequisites

System and Network Administration or equivalent experience.

  • Identify the foundations and structure of the Storage Essentials architecture, and how components communicate within the architecture
  • Install and distribute and manage the SE CIM extensions for managed systems
  • Describe, perform, and manage the SE discovery procedures
  • Configure and set up the management server for capacity, performance, reporting
  • Describe management for the internal (management) database
  • Configure and use the filesystem viewer
  • Describe and use the SE GUI base components, plug-ins, and applications
  • Create Reports using Report Optimizer
